This is an Intel vendor who makes PC-board
inspection machines.
ABILITY was hired to design an instructor-led
class for technicians who maintain the machines, a course
that had to meet the standards put forth by Intel, their customer.
These requirements included PBET (Performance
Based Equipment Training) standards, structured writing techniques,
and delivery to English-as-a-Second-Language (ESL) audiences
worldwide.
The work was done in FrameMaker, Word, and
PowerPoint.
The first course was very well-received by Intel; they said
it was the best of all their supplier trainings. Teradyne
then contracted with ABILITY to develop another course for
the same machine.
They subsequently had us create training
for another machine, and finally create four new classes for
the new version of the original machine concurrently; Marilyn
managed a team of three to get that done.
What was to have been a six-month project
became three years of training development for them.
As always, all courses were on deadline and on budget.
